Our Mission

Eden First Church of the Brethren is a Body of Believers who acknowledge salvation by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. We are a congregation under the authority of the Scriptures and in the heritage of the Church of the Brethren. We seek to proclaim by word and deed the saving acts of God’s love. We desire to be open to the Holy Spirit’s working and guidance in our lives. We endeavor to encourage the personal development and spiritual growth of all who share in our life together. We strive to serve lovingly our neighbors, our community, our nation, and the world in the manner exemplified by Christ.

Our Beliefs

“For the glory of God and my neighbors’ good” was a motto of the early Brethren. The Church of the Brethren traces its roots back over 300 years to eighteenth century Europe. The early Brethren shared many beliefs with other Protestants, but focused on peaceful action, plain and compassionate living, and a shared search for truth. Still today, we turn toward God in devotion and toward our neighbors in service.
